Homeworkopoly
Students who successfully complete all assigned homework, their Reading Logs, return all school related forms, and has their BOBCAT taken care of all week will be eligible to play Homeworkopoly on Friday. We will play all year long, so the more you do your homework the more chances you have to win!
Z.A.P.
Zeroes Aren't Permitted
Students who do not complete their homework on time will have to fill out a Z.A.P. form. During lunch, instead of joining their classmates, students will sit at the lunch detention table to eat and to complete their homework. Then, during recess students will have even more time to finish their homework while they sit on the wall instead of playing.
Reading Logs
All students are required to read for 20 minutes every night Monday - Thursday. They need to read, then write a short reflection about what they read. They may read anything they want: novels, newspapers, magazines, comics, etc. I recommend reading an AR book during this time, but all reading is good reading! The reading logs are due every Friday. If a student fails to complete the reading log they will be required to sign the book and become ineligible to play Homeworkopoly.
I am attaching a copy of the Reading Log just in case someone needs to print one at home.

Spelling
There will also be weekly spelling homework in the form of a Tic-Tac-Toe board. Students will be given this sheet along with their new word list every Monday. Spelling is always due at the beginning of ELA class on Thursday, no exceptions. If a student is absent on Thursday the homework is due the day they return to class.
I am attaching a copy of the Tic-Tac-Toe sheets for all six, six-week periods.
